President Sirleaf Congratulates Egypt on National Day, July 23rd
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt on the occasion marking their 64th National Day.
Egypt celebrates its national day on July 23rd each year to commemorate the Egyptian revolution that took place on this day in 1952. The revolution led to an ouster of the monarchy and the establishment of a republic form of government.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, in her message to His Excellency Mr. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Liberian leader extended warm congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and in her own name, to President el-Sisi and through him to the Government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt on this auspicious day.
President Sirleaf recalled the long and historic relations between the two countries which, she said, have been mutually rewarding, within the context of the partnership.
The Liberian leader noted that the Government of Egypt continues to lend support to the human resource gap and many areas: particularly, in the Post-Ebola Economic Stabilization Plan.
She stated further that Liberia continues to recognize Egypt’s role in shaping human history and being the harbinger of modern civilization.
President Sirleaf prayed that the Almighty Allah will continue to shower his bountiful blessings and prosperity on the Government and people of Egypt as they celebrate this milestone.
