The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a Congratulatory Message to the Government and People of the United States of America on the auspicious occasion marking the 234th Anniversary Celebrations of the Independence of that great country.

In the message to Her American counterpart, His Excellency Barack Obama, President of the United States, the Liberian leader expressed heartfelt congratulations and sincerest best wishes to President Obama, and through him, to the Government and People of the United States on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the people of Liberia express the conviction that the historic ties of friendship and mutual cooperation between Liberia and the United States will continue to be the bedrock of U.S. support and solidarity to Liberia.

President Johnson Sirleaf then prayed that the Almighty God will continue to grant President Obama good health and happiness and that the People of the United States will continue to live in peace, unity and prosperity.
