The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has expressed confidence that the historic ties of friendship and mutual cooperation subsisting between Liberia and the United States of America will be further concretized as the two countries work in harmony and understanding for the improvement of the living conditions of their respective citizens.

President Johnson Sirleaf made the statement when she congratulated the Government and People of the United States of America on the occasion marking the 235th Independence Anniversary of that country. The United States celebrates its Independence Anniversary on Monday, July 4th.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Johnson Sirleaf, in the message to United States President Barak Obama, prayed and wished for President Obama, good health and happiness as he leads his people.

She also wished for the People of the United States of America, peace, unity and prosperity under his dynamic leadership.
