President Boakai Applauds the Vatican on Independence Anniversary
Monrovia, Thursday, February 8, 2024: The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Mr. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has sent a congratulatory message to His Holiness Pope Francis, as the Vatican City State, the Apostolic Episcopal See of the Bishop of Rome celebrates its Independence Day on February 11, 2024.
In his message to His Holiness Pope Francis, President Boakai extended sincere congratulations on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia and in his own name.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian leader stressed that as Ex Cathedra and the Universal Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Church as they commemorate the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Vatican City State.
President Boakai noted with pleasure that the partnership between Liberia and the Vatican has accrued enormous benefits collaborating in sectors like social services, health, and education.
He further that as the Vatican celebrates this remarkable day, he prayed and hoped that the two nations will work collaboratively in promoting world peace, and security for all of humankind.
