President Boakai Applauds Uganda on 62nd Independence Anniversary

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Uganda on the official observance of the 62nd Independence Anniversary of that Country on October 9, 2024. According to a Foreign Ministry release, in the message to His Excellency Yoweri Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, President Boakai, on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of Uganda on the occasion marking the 62nd Independence Anniversary.

The Liberian leader said that Uganda’s journey since gaining independence has been one of resilience, determination, and remarkable achievements. He praised President Museveni for his leadership and the efforts of the Ugandan people to continue to contribute significantly to the stability and development of their region, as well as the peace and progress of the African continent. “As you mark this historic occasion, we join you and your compatriots in celebrating the rich history, culture and unity of Uganda. Liberia and Uganda share a deep bond rooted in our shared commitment to the principles of the African unity, cooperation, and progress,” President Boakai added.

The Liberian leader entertained the hope that the two countries will deepen their ties by identifying new fields of bilateral cooperation for the mutual benefits of their peoples. The Liberian leader then prayed that the Almighty God will grant President Museveni with knowledge and good health as he leads his people to greater prosperity.
