Mrs. Antoinette Louise Tubman, Former First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, is dead

The Government of the Republic of Liberia announces with profound regrets, the death in her 98th year, of Mrs. Antoinette Louise Tubman, Former First Lady of the Republic of Liberia, which sad event occurred on Wednesday, May 18th, 2011.


Details of Funeral and Internment Ceremonies will be announced later.


The Late Mrs. Tubman was the wife of President William V.S. Tubman, 18th president of the Republic of Liberia.


The former First Lady after whom the Antoinette Tubman stadium is named was a Philanthropist and Humanitarian who headed several charitable organizations of Churches and the state.


She leaves to mourn her loss, several children, Grand children and Great Grand children, nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.


Meanwhile, the Government of Liberia expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prays that the Almighty God will grant them solace during this period of mourning.
