President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has sent a message of condolences to President Asif Zardari, the Government and People of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan for the tragic news of a barbaric terrorist attack on the Islamabad Marriott Hotel, resulting to over fifty deaths, injuries, and several million dollars worth of property damage.

On behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in her own name, President Johnson-Sirleaf also expressed sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families for the irreparable loss sustained as the result of the cowardly and uncivilized act against innocent people.

The Liberian leader said the attack should only strengthen the collective resolve of both Liberia and Pakistan to combat terrorism which continues to woefully undermine prospects of socio-economic advancement of all peace loving people as well as global peace and security.

President Johnson-Sirleaf then prayed that the Almighty Allah will grant the Pakistani leader wisdom and fortitude as he and his fellow compatriots work assiduously in the search for peace, stability and harmony.
