Foreign Ministry Appoints New Director of Passport And Visas

The President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf   has approved the appointment of Ms. Marian F. Sandi as Director of Passport and Visas, Division of Passport and Visas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, her appointment takes effect on the 1st of November 2016.

 

In her letter of appointment, dated October 25, 2016, Foreign Minister Marjon V. Kamara challenged the new Director to ensure an effective and efficient management of the Division of Passport and Visas and to provide quality services to the public and assist in the detection and prevention of fraud in securing passport/visas.  

 

According to the release, Minister Kamara also expressed confidence that Director Sandi will perform her duties with dedication, honesty, commitment and loyalty while at the same time ensuring that the interest of Liberia is fully protected at all times.  

 

Prior to her appointment as Director of Passports and Visas, Ms. Marian Sandi served the ministry in several positions including Deputy Director, Division of Passport and Visas; Special Assistant to the Director of Passport and Visas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Supervisor, ECOWA-Biometrics Passports Project, Division of Passport and Visas; Passport Officer and Cadet, Division of Passport and Visas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

 

 Ms. Sandi has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration from the University of Liberia and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Planning and Development from the Institute of Applied Manpower Research, Delhi, India, along with several certificates in Imposter Detection and Interview Techniques, among others.
