Foreign Minister Findley Outlines a Number of Achievements of Gov’t
The Foreign Minister of Liberia, Gbehzohngar Milton Findley has outlined a number of achievements under his administration since he took office as Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia.
Appearing on the early morning OK FM talk-show on Tuesday, Foreign Minister Findlay highlighted President George Manneh Weah’s recent participation in the FOCAC Summit in the People’s Republic of China, where he said the Government of Liberia succeeded in securing US$ 54 million grant to construct overpasses at the SKD Boulevard.
Minister Findley who appeared on the OK FM Talk show upon invitation spoke on wide range of issues achieved by his Ministry since the inception of the CDC- led administration.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Minister highlighted the training and deployment of 58 Protocol Officers in various Ministries and Agencies of the Liberian Government as a landmark achievement of his Ministry.
Foreign Minister Findley further indicated that the Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has continued to strengthen bilateral cooperation and ties with foreign government and development partners in various fields.
He told OK FM that as a result of government engagement with partners, the country received a high level fact findings Chinese business delegation to Liberia to hold business discussions with officials of the Liberian government and Liberian Business Associates.
the Liberian Foreign Minister further mentioned the pronouncement by the Japanese Government that it would make available Us$2.7 million worth of food assistance to the Government and people of Liberia aimed at addressing Liberia’s Food Security Situation and recent proposals submitted to that country for the construction of 282 housing units in Cesstown, Grand Kru County.
Minister Findley also mentioned the pledge made by the Government of India to construct a modern Conference Hall for the people of Liberia with no cost attached as achievement of President Weah’s administration.
Foreign Minister Findley flagged the Draft Cooperation Agreement between the Governments of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Liberia.
The Draft Liberia-Morocco Joint Cooperation Agreement, to be implemented in the field of Vocational Training between the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion of Morocco as well as the Morocco International Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Youths and Sports of Liberia.
He also spoke about the Visa waiver for holders of diplomatic passports as some of the Weah lead government interventions at the Foreign Ministry level.
He recalled the intervention of the India government in the area of public transportation with 34 buses being underway to enhance the transport sector of Liberia, adding that Liberia has made some significant improvement at its foreign missions through the provision of scholarship to deserving Liberians.
The Dean of the Cabinet then called on Liberians to be patient and refrain from violence that would undermine the peace and stability of Liberia and seek dialogues with national government stressing that the Weah led government remains committed to its Pro-Poor Agenda of empowering ordinary Liberians.
