President Boakai Consoles Brazil
The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has sent a condolence message to the Government and People of the Republic of Brazil, following the death of at least seventy-five (75) persons and over one hundred (100) persons missing as a result of flooding that occurred in the Southern Rio Grande do Sul State on May 4, 2024.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Boakai, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in his own name, extended heartfelt condolences to His Excellency Mr. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, President of the Republic of Brazil, and through him, to the Government and People of Brazil, especially the bereaved families for the irreparable loss sustained.
The Liberian leader also prayed that Almighty God will grant President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the People of Brazil strength, courage and fortitude during this difficult period of national mourning.
