President Weah Applauds Senegal on 61st Independence Observance

President George Manneh Weah has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Senegal, on the occasion commemorating the 61st   Independence Anniversary of that Country.

 

April 4, is Senegal’s Independence Day. This holiday celebrates the day, when Senegal and French Sudan merged to form the Mail Federation in 1959. Although officially Senegal gained independence on June 20, 1960 the holiday is celebrated on April 4, on the anniversary of the foundation of the Mail Federation.

 

In the message to his Senegalese counterpart, His Excellency Mr. Macky Sall, President George Manneh Weah, on behalf of Liberia, and in his own name, extended warmest felicitations and best wishes to the Government and people of Senegal, as they celebrate this important and historic milestone.

 

The Liberian leader further expressed hope that as Senegal celebrates this historic occasion, the Almighty Allah will continue to shower His blessings upon President Macky Sall and the great people of Senegal.

President George Manneh Weah then prayed that the Almighty Allah will continue to endow the Senegalese leader with good health, abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his people to higher heights.
