President Weah Consoles Tunisia following the Death of President Beji Caid Essebsi

President George Manneh Weah has sent a Condolence Message to the Government and people of the Republic of Tunisia following the death of President Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia.  This sad and mournful event occurred on July 25, 2019.  

 

In the message to Prime Minister Youssef Chahed of Tunisia, President George Manneh Weah stated that the late President Essebsi was known for his patriotism, loyalty, and self-sacrifice in serving his country and people.   

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah expressed profound sadness and deep sorrow over the passing of one of Africa’s greatest sons, His Excellency Beji Caid Essebsi.“On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia, and in my own name, I extend to you, and through Your Excellency, to the Government and people of the Republic of Tunisia, heartfelt condolences,” President Weah declared.

 

The Liberian President then prayed that the Almighty Allah will grant the people of Tunisia strength, courage, and fortitude as they go through this difficult period of national mourning.   

 

Meanwhile President George Manneh Weah has also extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Republic of Benin on the joyous occasion commemorating the 59th Independence Anniversary of that sister Republic.

 

President George Manneh Weah expressed confidence that the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between Liberia and Benin will be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of both countries and peoples.
