President Weah Extols Denmark On National and Constitutional Day
President Dr. George Manneh Weah has on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and in his own name conveyed sincere congratulations to Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and through her, to the Government and people of Denmark on the auspicious occasion marking the 179th anniversary of the signing of the Danish constitution.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah said “as we join you in the celebration of this landmark occasion, we note with pleasing memory Denmark’s recognition of Liberia’s independence in 1861, despite the dissonance over the recognition of our sovereignty at that time”.
He noted that the two countries relations have burgeoned to include the promotion of gender equity, rule of laws and peace around round the world.
President Weah said he envisage the deepening of collaborations in many spheres including women empowerment, economic cooperation, education and tackling the scourge of maternal mortality.
He then wish Her Majesty continue well-being, and the Government and people of Denmark, peace and prosperity.
