The Foreign Minister assured the head of Diplomatic Missions near Monrovia that the same excellent relationship he enjoyed with his predecessors will be accorded him under his stewardship as Liberia’s Foreign Minister; adding, “I look forward to a cordial and smooth working relationship with your Excellency and heads of diplomatic missions accredited near Monrovia.”

For his part, Ambassador Doré extended on behalf of the diplomatic community and in his own name heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Foreign Minister Findley for his preferment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia.

He also paid special tribute to President George Manneh Weah and congratulated him on his election and inauguration as President of Liberia.

“As Ambassador of the sisterly Republic of Guinea and Doyen of the Diplomatic Corps in Liberia, I was to meet with you before even meeting with President Weah but due to your busy schedule and trip on hand, I had to see His Excellency ahead of my meeting with you. It was a great honor and privilege for me,” the Guinean Envoy told the Foreign Minister. He also informed the Minister that other representatives of diplomatic missions near Monrovia have already met with the President.

“Members of the Diplomatic Corps have already met and reaffirmed their individual support and commitment to solidify bilateral relationships with Liberia. They also expressed confidence that the ties between Liberia and the Diplomatic Community will remain strengthened in the years ahead.”

The Guinean Envoy assured the Foreign Minister of his renewed commitment to foster cordial working relationship with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under his leadership.

He further extended warm sentiments of facilitation on behalf of his President, His Excellency Professor Alpha Condé, to President George Manneh Weah. Ambassador Doré expressed his government’s unwavering commitment to strengthen the existing bilateral cooperation with Liberia.

The Guinean Ambassador further added that President Condé is extremely delighted and overwhelmed by the ascendency of President Weah to power.

“Mr. Minister, our two great countries have traditional ties and some common values, including economic, social and cultural ties along common borders. So we need to meet frequently in order to engage into fruitful bilateral discussions of common interests. As you know, we have huge Guinean population in Liberia and as well as huge Liberian population in Guinea. We, therefore, need to seek and promote peace and stability in our two sisterly Republics and the sub-region as a whole,” Ambassador Doré implored Foreign Minister Findley.
