President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a Message of Condolence to the Government and People of the People’s Republic of China, following a tragic industrial explosion in the City of Tianjin, Southeast of Beijing. The explosion killed at least 55 persons and injured 700 people with several properties damaged.   

In her message to her Chinese Counterpart, His Excellency XI Jinping, President Sirleaf, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, extended heartfelt condolences to the Chinese Leader, and thorough him, to the Government and People of the People’s Republic of China, especially the bereaved families for the irreparable loss sustained as a result of the tragic incident.   

President Sirleaf also prays that the spirit, courage and resilience, which have characterized the People and the Government of China through the ages, will see them through this period of national mourning.
