President Sirleaf Congratulates Burkina Faso
The President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E. Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and People of the Republic of Burkina Faso on the occasion marking the 55th Independence Anniversary of that country.
In her message to His Excellency Mr. Michel Kafando, President of the Republic of Burkina Faso, President Sirleaf said it gives her immense pleasure to extend to him and through him to the Government and People of the Republic of Burkina Faso, heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia and in her own name.
President Sirleaf stated that as the People of the Republic of Burkina Faso commemorate this joyous occasion, she entertains the hope that the historic and cordial ties of friendship and cooperation that have so long subsisted between the two countries and peoples will be further strengthened for the mutual benefit of their peoples. “As we continue to work together in furtherance of the principles of the Economic Community of West African States, the African Union and the United Nations for the promotion of International Peace, Security and Economic Cooperation amongst all nations, it is our fervent prayers that Almighty God will endow your Excellency with abundant wisdom and strength,” President Sirleaf said.
The Liberian Leader also wished for the Burkinabe Leader’s personal well-being, and prayed that the Almighty God will endow him with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his people to sustainable peace and greater prosperity.
