President Sirleaf Congratulates British Queen On 89th Natal Day

The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the joyful occasions in observance of her 89th Birth Anniversary.

 

On behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name, President Johnson Sirleaf extended warmest congratulations and profound wishes to the British Queen and acknowledged the long-standing and cordial relations subsisting between Liberia and Britain.

 

President Johnson Sirleaf recalled that during the peak of the Ebola Virus Epidemic in Liberia, the United Kingdom provided needed and timely assistance to bolster international efforts in containing the virus.

 

The Liberian leader said  as the two countries remain devoted to upholding their common values amongst which are the respect for  fundamental human rights, and the values of equality, freedom and justice for all, she is confident that their friendly relations which have spanned well over a decade and a half  will continue to grow from strength to strength.


 

She then wished for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II continued good health and happiness and renewed peace and prosperity for the people of Great Britain.

 

She also wished success for the United Kingdom’s forthcoming May 7 elections aimed at electing the 56th Parliament of the United Kingdom.
