Mr. Tableh who himself is a clinician expressed hope that though Ebola is a disease that causes pain and afflictions on its victims, but with the collective humanitarian efforts and assistance of Liberia and the international community, the virus will soon be defeated. He noted that despite the numerous challenges faced by civil servants, MOFAWA as an umbrella organization of the Foreign Ministry was making the donations` to buttress government’s efforts in fighting the deadly virus in Liberia.
While expressing gratitude to health authorities across Liberia, Mr. Tableh also hailed doctors and nurses in the country who are on the frontline of the Ebola fight, for their tireless efforts towards the eradication of the disease which he said has helped reduce the transmission of the killer virus in Liberia.
The spokesman then thanked his fellow employees of the Ministry for supporting this worthy humanitarian initiative and applauded the Ngafuan led- Administration for affording them the space to make this presentation.
Receiving the items on behalf of the ETU, Dr.Atai Omoruto assured MOFAWA that the items will be distributed to the most needy victims and expressed gratitude to the association's leadership for the timely humanitarian gesture.
While welcoming the Foreign Ministry’s team at the ETU, the Ugandan physician thanked the organization for the timely humanitarian donation and hailed its leadership for being courageous enough to walk into the center to make such a laudable and excellent donation, describing the initiative as appropriate humanitarian gesture.
Dr. Omoruto said it is not the quantity that matters but its intended purpose, adding that it is not just everyone who is willing to reach out to ETU centers but few humanitarians and patriotic citizens with the passion to extend hands to their fellow citizens victimized by the disease.
She then admonished the association to continue to render such a humanitarian gesture as Liberia intensifies its battle against the Ebola virus.
The Ugandan doctor further warned that despite gains made in the fight against the virus, Liberians should not be complacent but continue to take all precautionary measures seriously in order to defeat the virus totally from Liberia.
The ceremony was also attended by some representatives from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
