United Nations Deputy SG to Meet with President Weah -Arrives in Country Wednesday, March 21

The United Nations Deputy Security General, Ms. Amina Mohammed, at the head of a six-person delegation, is expected to hold talks with His Excellency Mr. George Manneh Weah, President of the Republic of Liberia.

 

Ms. Mohammed and delegation, who are coming as guest of the Liberian Government, are expected to arrive in the country Wednesday, March 21. They will be met at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) by senior government officials, including Honorable B. Elias Shoniyan, Acting Foreign Minister; Honorable Daniel Ziankan, Minister of National Defense; Honorable Cllr. Musa Dean, Minister of Justice; and Honorable Varney Sirleaf, Minister of Internal Affairs.   

 

The other UN guests along with Deputy Security General Mohammed include Assistant Security General Bintou Keita, Mr. Nelson Muffuh, Ms. Gloria Ntegeye, Ms. Nathalie Guillaume and Mr. Sajid Karim.

 

Among discussions during their three-day visit, will include event to celebrate the successful completion of the UNMIL Mandate on March 31, 2018 and a high-level meeting to initiate the design of the national development agenda for 2018 to 2024 with officials of the Government of Liberia and stakeholders.

 

Ms. Mohammed is also expected to take part in the ceremony marking the official turning-over of the UN Radio to ECOWAS Commission.
