President George Manneh Weah has, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Republic of Finland on the occasion commemorating the Independence Anniversary of that country, on December 6 2019.

In the message to His Excellency Sauli Niinisto, President of the Republic of Finland, Dr.  George Manneh Weah recounted Finland’s enormous contributions towards Liberia’s recovery, through the Finnish Refugee Council, in the areas of functional literacy, vocational and entrepreneurship training as well as education.

The Liberia leader says his government looks forward to heightening the already cordial relationship subsisting between Liberia and Finland, to include joint ventures between their two governments and peoples. 

President George Weah further expressed hope that the two governments will work together aimed at empowering and advancing the interests of women and young people.

The Liberian leader then wished for President Sauli Niinisto continued good health and for the people of Finland sustained peace and prosperity.
