President Sirleaf Consoles Iran
The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a condolence message to the Government and People of the Islamic Republic of Iran following the sad news of the 6.3 magnitude twin earthquake which claimed the lives of over 300 persons.
The earthquake that took place in the northwestern part of the country also left about 16,000 Iranian people homeless and 20 villages destroyed.
In her message, President Johnson Sirleaf on behalf of Liberia extended heartfelt condolences to President Mohmoud Ahmadinejad and through him to the Government and People of Iran, particularly the bereaved families for the loss sustained.
While expressing regrets over the tragic incident, the Liberian Leader said her Government received the news with great shock and sadness, adding that the People of Liberia will join the Government and People of Iran in mourning this national loss.
President Johnson Sirleaf then prayed that the Almighty God will grant President Ahmadinejad wisdom, courage and fortitude as he steers the affairs of state through this troubled time.
