The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to President Elect, His Excellency Ibrahim Boubacar Keita for his election as President of the Republic of Mali.

In the message to the Malian President Elect, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf extended on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name, warmest congratulations for this milestone in his life personally and in the history of the Republic of Mali.

President Sirleaf noted that his victory is a manifestation of the confidence that the people of Mali have in his ability to lead that great country at this time and that his election marks a great victory for democracy not only for Mali but  for Africa, as she looks forward to collaborating with him as he steers his country back to normality and seek to heal the national wounds of the recent past.

She then prayed that the Almighty God would shower President Keita with abundant wisdom and good health as he undertakes this delicate and onerous task.
