The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the memorable and auspicious occasion marking that country’s 53^rd Independence Anniversary.

In her message to her Nigerian counterpart, H.E. President Godluck Ebele Jonathan, President Johnson Sirleaf on behalf of Liberia, extended heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of Nigerian as that West African state observes its 53^rd Independence Anniversary.

The Liberia leader expressed hope that as the People of Nigeria celebrate this historic event, the celebration will unite and continue to bring lasting peace to the People of Nigeria.

The Liberian leader also prayed that the Almighty God will continue to shower President Jonathan with abundant wisdom and continued good health as he steers the affairs of his country.

She then expressed confidence that the longstanding and cordial relations subsisting between the two countries and peoples will gain increased impetus as the two Governments work together for the mutual interest of both nations and peoples.
