The President of the Republic Of Liberia, Her Excllency Mrs Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has congratulated His Excellency Mr Tony Abbott, Prime Minister-Elect of Australia, on his Ascendency as Prime Minister of that country.

In her congratulatory message to the new Australian Prime Minister, President Johnson Sirleaf on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia and in her own name extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Abbott for his preferment and added that his ascendency as Prime Minister is in recognition of the long service to his people and his immense experience gained over the years.

While expressing joy over the election, President Johnson Sirleaf recalled Mr. Abbott’s deep involvement in Australian decision-making process over the past years, which she noted had served as a catalyst for his ascendency to the post of Prime Minister.

President Johnson Sirleaf said she looks forward to working cooperatively with the new Australian leader in further cementing the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation between both countries and peoples.

The Liberian President expressed the hope that the two Governments will work together for the promotion of human dignity and peace in their respective states and the world at large.

The Liberian Chief Executive then prayed that the people of Australia will continue to achieve greater height of economic progress, unity and prosperity under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister
