President Johnson-Sirleaf Consoles Brazil, France

The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency, Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has sent two separate messages of condolences to the Presidents, Governments and Peoples of the Republic of France and the Federal Republic of Brazil owing to last week tragic catastrophe which led to the missing of an Air France plan carrying at least 228 passengers from Brazil to France and subsequently crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on Monday, June 1, 2009.


In the message to her Brazilan counterpart, His Excellency, Mrs. Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, President Johnson-Sirleaf extended a Message of Deepest Sympathy and Condolences on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia to the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Brazil, particularly the bereaved family, for the great loss sustained following the death of a number of Brazilian nationals who were onboard the Air France Flight carrying 228 passengers.


In the Message to President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, Madam Johnson-Sirleaf extended deepest condolences on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia, and in her own name, to the Government and People of the Republic of France, particularly members of the bereaved families for the irreparable loss sustained as a result of the tragic catastrophe.


President Johnson-Sirleaf then prayed that Almighty God comforts and gives solace to members of the bereaved Families for the loss of their loved ones during these hours of their national tragedy.
