Hon. Upjit Singh Sachdeva now Heads Consular Corps in Liberia

The Honorary Indian Consul General to Liberia, Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva, has now been appointed the Head or Dean of the Consular Corps, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Liberia.

 

According to Mr. Charles H. V. Allen, Acting Chief of Protocol (COP), Republic of Liberia, the appointment of Mr. Sachdeva, who is popularly known in Liberia as “Mr. Jeety,” is based on Article 16 of the Vienna Convention on consular Relations of April 24, 1963.

 

“It is our expectation that you will work closely with other Members of the Consular Corps in forging common agenda of the Consular Corps as we all strive to lift Liberia,” Acting COP Allen told Mr. Sachdeva in the letter to him.

 

Mr. Allen also inform all heads of diplomatic missions in Liberia in a circular: “This is to inform that after careful review of the Consular records and in accordance with Article 16 of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the honor to inform that Mr. Upjit Singh Sachdeva, Honorary Consul General of India is now Head / Dean of the Consular Corps.”

 

He wishes that all appropriate courtesies be accorded Mr. Sachdeva on all occasions.
