President Weah Extols Denmark On 169th Anniversary Of The Signing Of Danish Constitution

The President of Liberia, His Excellency George Manneh Weah, has sent a message of congratulations to the Queen of Denmark, Her Majesty MARGRETHE ll and the Government and people of Denmark on the propitious occasion commemorating the 169th anniversary of the signing of the Danish Constitution on June 5, 2018.

 

 “I am elated to send hearty greetings to your Majesty, and through you, to the government and people of Denmark, on behalf of the government and people of Liberia, and in my own name”.

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian leader said joining in the celebration on this auspicious occasion enables Liberia to reflect on the cordiality in its relations since the recognition of Liberia’s sovereignty by the Kingdom of Denmark in 1861, and the Kingdom’s numerous supports for Liberia’s development and promotion of gender parity.

 

“It is in this spirit that we look forward to deepening collaboration in many spheres including economic cooperation, education, women empowerment, and other aspects of private sector investment, to the mutual benefit of our people.”

 

The Liberian leader wished for Her Majesty heartfelt good health and happiness, and for the Government and People of Denmark, peace, and prosperity.
