President Weah Consoles President Bush Following the Death of Former First Lady Barbara Bush
President George Manneh Weah has sent a Message of Consolation to Mr. Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, following the passing of Mrs. Barbara P. Bush, former First Lady of the United States of America.
Mrs. Bush, who is regarded as the Matriarch of a Republican political dynasty and former First Lady and First Mom, sadly died on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. She was 92.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah told his American counterpart, “We have received with shock and sadness, news of the death of Mrs. Barbara Bush, former First Lady of the United States of America, on April 17, 2018.”
The Liberian Leader further stated that as the People of the United States endure this great loss, he, on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia and in his own name, extend to Mr. Trump, and through him, to the Government and People of the United States of America, especially the Bush Family, Liberia’s heartfelt condolences.
“Barbara Bush will be remembered for her fierce civil rights advocacy and devotion to family and country,” Mr. Weah further told President Trump.
The Liberian President prayed that the Almighty God will grant solace and consolation to the American People during this difficult period of mourning.
