Ivory Coast In Town Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Match

The In Profile Daily reports that a high power 50-man delegation comprising players, officials and supporters of the Ivorian National Soccer Team arrived in the Country yesterday via the Roberts International Airport (RIA) ahead of their FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier against the Lone Star of Liberia this Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.  The in Profile daily writes that the Elephants of Ivory Coast is facing the Lone Star of Liberia in a two-leg second round play-off matches beginning this Friday in Monrovia.

Pres. Sirleaf Congratulates Poland

The New Dawn newspaper reports that President. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and People of the Republic of Poland as that country celebrates its Independence Day today, November 11th.A Foreign Ministry release said, President Johnson Sirleaf in her Congratulatory Message to H. E. Mr. Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland, referenced the excellent, cordial and longstanding relations subsisting between the two nations and peoples, with which she noted was satisfactory and mutually rewarding. “It is our ardent wish that in the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding, we could explore more rewarding spheres of bilateral cooperation for our mutual benefits,” the Liberian Leader said. President Sirleaf concluded by further offering her best wishes for the well-being of her Polish counterpart, and for the Polish people sustained progress and prosperity, under the dynamic leadership of President Andrzej Duda.

 

Cabinet Adopts Several Measures

According to the New Dawn newspaper, the Liberian cabinet on Wednesday adopted several measures in what it said were key economic stimulus aimed at boosting economic growth, reducing poverty, and creating much needed jobs. The meeting attended by both President Ellen Jonson Sirleaf and Vice President Joseph Boakai further mandated the Special City Beautification Task Force to carry out the exercise in a coordinated, systematic and adequate notice-sharing manner. A statement issued late Wednesday night said the Cabinet scrupulously examined and approved the concepts and blueprints for the implementation of, the Agriculture and Agro-processing Task Force; Manufacturing and Business Support Task Force; Special City Beautification Task Force; and the Netherlands International Development Forum for Ebola Countries. 

 

New School Dedicated In Vortor Town

A modern elementary school has been dedicated in Vortor Town, Dewein District, Bomi County. According to the INSIGHT newspaper, following the dedication of the school, Dewein District Commissioner Foley Siryon disclosed that the school was constructed by the World Bank under its Education for Childhood Development Program. Commissioner Siryon said the facility contains a library, playground, kitchen and a hand pump, among others. Siryon noted that the construction of the school in the district is intended to give children of school-going age in the district access to quality education. He hailed the Ministry of Education and Bomi County School System for ensuring that the school was constructed.

 

Two Depart For Wushu Congress

Through the sponsorship of the Chinese Embassy near Monrovia, two officials of the Liberia National Wushu Association departed the Country yesterday for Jakarta, Indonesia to participate in the International Wushu Federation 13th congress slated for November 13-18, 2015. The Liberian delegation includes the President of the Liberia National Wushu Association, Fred J. A. Pratt and Assistant Secretary General Pitman Wright.  According to the NEWS newspaper,  Wushu, which is also referred to as Kung-fu is a collective term for the martial art practices developed by the People’s Republic of China.

 

VP Rejects Blame For Rice Project’s Failure In Lofa

The Insight Newspaper reports that the office of Vice President Joseph Boakai has debunked claim that VP Boakai was responsible for the failure of the FDA, project that was poised to be Liberia’s largest mechanized rice production in Lofa County. The VP Office also described the Allegation Sa Politically Motivated. it can be recalled that a local daily on ,Monday November 9, published a news article captioned why the Foya rice project became fiasco?.
