President Weah Congratulates Guinea Bissau’s President-Elect, Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah has on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia sent a message of congratulations to His Excellency Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco, on the occasion of his ascendency to the highest office of that country.

 

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah informed the President elect of the herculean task of shaping his country future; however, he entertained the hope that the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between the two countries and peoples will be further strengthened in the spirit of friendship and cooperation.

 

 

In his message to the President-Elect, Mr. Sissoco, the Liberian leader said “your election as President of Guinea Bissau comes after only two years of the assumption of my role as President of Liberia, which puts us both under similar expectations to deliver on our promises to our peoples”.

  

 

President Weah intimated that he and President-Elect Sissoco will work to deepen cooperation in trade and commerce and other forms of partnership that spur development in their respective countries and the ECOWAS Community as a whole.  

 

 

President Weah then prayed that the Almighty God will continuously endow His Excellency Mr. Sissoco with increased wisdom and resilience to lead the people of Guinea Bissau to prosperity and continued happiness during his tenure as he begins this arduous but ennoble journey.
