President Sirleaf Consoles Australia And Singapore On National Mourning

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a Condolence Message to the Government and People of the Commonwealth of Australia, following the death of that country’s Former Prime Ministers, RT. Honorable Malcolm Fraser.

 

In her message to Honorable Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, President Johnson Sirleaf extended heartfelt Condolences on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia to the Government and People of Australia for the irreparable loss sustained.

President Johnson Sirleaf added that Former Prime Minister Fraser will be remembered for his numerous contributions to humanity and for his great achievements made over the years. 

 

The Liberian leader recalled the many achievements made by the Former Prime Minister both at the home front, especially when he echoed issues of multilateralism, thus embracing aboriginal Land Rights and human rights while on the international front hailing efforts of the former prime minister to end apartheid in South Africa, achieved independence in Zimbabwe and fostered many other engagements that supported humanity around the world.    

 

In a related development, President Johnson Sirleaf has also sent a Condolence message to the Government and People of the Republic of Singapore following the death of its Former Prime Minister H.E. Lee Kuan Yew.

 

In her message to His Excellency Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam, President of the Republic of Singapore, President Johnson Sirleaf extended her heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, to the Government and People of the Republic of Singapore, especially the bereaved family for the irreparable loss sustained.

 

President Johnson Sirleaf added that Former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yem will be remembered for his numerous contributions and achievements especially as founding father of Singapore whose guidance led to its development into a modern state.

 

The Liberian President recalled with satisfaction the visionary leadership of the Former Prime Minister whom she said led his country from its independence in 1965 and build it as one of the most prosperous nations in the world.

 

President Johnson Sirleaf noted that the former Prime Minister was a devoted and exemplary public servant and a remarkable leader in the world.

 

The Liberian president then prayed that God will grant President Tan Keng Yem with strength, courage and fortitude as the people of Singapore go through this period of national mourning.
