The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency, Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, over the week-end sent a message of congratulations to the Government and People’s of the Republic of Zimbabwe on the occasion marking the 35^th Independence Anniversary of that Country.

In the message to her Zimbabwean Counterpart, President Robert Mugabe, President Sirleaf extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of the Republic of Zimbabwe on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in her own name.

The Liberian Leader acknowledged that the occasion comes at a time when President Mugabe on behalf of the great people of Zimbabwe holds the Mantle of Authority of the African Union which he so ably chaired during the 24^th Assembly, President Johnson Sirleaf noted that as the people of Zimbabwe celebrate this joyous occasion, the Government and People of Liberia wish President Mugabe and his compatriots good health, prosperity and long life as both countries work together in furtherance of the principles of the African Union and the United Nations, aimed at promoting peace, security and economic cooperation amongst members.

The Liberian leader prayed that God Almighty will endow President Mugabe with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads the people of Zimbabwe to greater prosperity.
