The President of the Republic of Liberia Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf congratulated Her Excelency Mrs. Dilma Rousseff, President elect of the Federative Republic of Brazil, on the historic occasion marking  her election as the first female president of that country.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Johnson Sirleaf says this maistone  is the realization of the dreams and aspirations of not only the people of Brazil, but also for those women   all over the world who holds dear the value of democracy, dignity and equal opportunities.

President Johnson Sirleaf says her government looks forward to continuing and strengthening the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between Liberia and Brazil under the dynamic leadership of President elect, Rousseff.
