President Johnson-Sirleaf Extols Italy, Sweden


The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has sent two Messages of Congratulation to the Presidents, Governments and Peoples of Italy and the Kingdom of Sweden respectively on the auspicious occasions of the observance of the National Days of the two countries. 


According to a Foreign Ministry press release, in the message to her Italian counterpart, His Excellency President Giorgio Napolitano, President Johnson-Sirleaf expressed warmest felicitations and best wishes to the Government and People of Italy and hoped that the cordial ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between both countries and peoples will be further strengthened as they work together in advancing the principles of the United Nations in promoting international peace, security and cooperation.



The Liberian leader recalled the harmonious ties of friendship and cooperation subsisting between Italy and Liberia and their respective peoples over the years, and wished that the brotherly people of Italy will continue to enjoy the shower of blessings under the able leadership of President Napolitano.


In her message to His Majesty King Carl Xvi Gustaf, King of the Kingdom of Sweden, and the Government and People of the Kingdom of Sweden, President Johnson-Sirleaf hoped that both governments and peoples will continue to work together in forging stronger ties of friendship as they discover new and more rewarding areas of greater cooperation in contributing to the promotion of international peace and security in the global community.



The Liberian leader then prayed that the friendly people of the Kingdom of Sweden will enjoy peace and prosperity under the leadership of His Majesty King Carl Xvi Gustaf.
