Liberian Chinese Trained Scholars Hail China For Remarkable Assistance To Africa
The President of the Liberian Association of Chinese Trained Scholars, (LACTS) Mr. Moibah Keller Johnson has applauded the Government of the People’s Republic of China for its numerous contributions to Africa, adding that China’s trained scholars will work together collectively to promote China’s efforts on the African continent, aimed at expanding rewarding cooperation between Africa and that Asian country.
Mr. Johnson made the assertion while in China, where he participated in a Seminar for Leadership of Friendship with China Organizations from African English Speaking Countries held at the Academy Business Offices in Beijing, China.
Mr. Johnson stated that China’s relations with Africa goes beyond just acquiring raw materials to sustain its fast growing economy but to establish trade ties with the continent aimed at addressing massive poverty and underdevelopment underpinning Africa’s growth.
While making remarks on behalf of his fellow African trainees at the seminar LACTS’ President who also headed the entire participants at the seminar thanked the Chinese Government for the program assuring that the knowledge and skills acquired will enable them play a vital leadership role in their respective organizations back home.
“As we thankfully partake into this all important skills acquiring endeavor, it is our anticipation that the knowledge acquired here will not only afford us the opportunity to bring new and vibrant skills to bear on the leadership of our respective organizations, but will also place us in a more opportune positions to further concretize the already strong and flourishing relations currently subsisting between china and Africa.” the Head of delegation added.
While expressing thanks and appreciation to the Chinese Government on behalf of his colleagues for the training, Mr. Johnson assured the organizers of the seminar that the lesson learned from the program will be used to transform their organizations back home saying “our coming to China has presented us an eye opener and a whole new perspective about China”, he stressed further.
He asserted that the lesson learnt coupled with the visit at historical sites in China shows the resilience of the People of China wanting success even in the face of daunting challenges.
In his final remarks on behalf of his fellow trainees as spokesperson and class President, Mr. Johnson called on the participants to consider the training as a workup call aimed at urging Africans to begin challenging themselves at both individual and collective levels to meaningfully contribute to the continent and engender positive change in their organizations.
“This is indeed the lesson we are taking from China, let us cherish it, let us speak it and let us work it” Mr. Johnson expressed with great excitement.
Moibah Johnson who is a Desk Officer assigned in the Bureau of Afro-Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headed Liberian representatives who joined Participants from other African countries at the 14 day leadership seminar held in Beijing, China for leaders of Friendship -With -China Organizations from English speaking countries across the continent.
