Government Announces Funeral Arrangements for the Late Mrs. Ruth Sando Perry; President Sirleaf, Others to Sign Book of Condolence on Thursday, January 26, 2017

The Government of Liberia has announced the funeral arrangements for the late Mrs. Ruth Sando Fahnbulleh Perry, former Chairperson of the Council of State, National Transitional Government of the Republic of Liberia.

 

According to a Foreign Ministry release, on Thursday, January 26, 2017, the Book of Condolence for the late Mrs Ruth Sando Fahnbulleh Perry will be opened in the Foyer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs beginning at 10:00 a.m.

 

 

On Friday, January 27, 2017, wake-keeping will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America.

 

 

On Saturday, January 28, 2017, Funeral rites will be said over the remains of the late Mrs. Ruth Sando Fahnbulleh Perry at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 East Broad Street, Columbus Ohio from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., to be followed by interment at the Glenn Rest Memorial Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America.

 

 

As a mark of last respect and tribute to the late former Chairperson of the Council of State of the National Transitional Government, the President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has declared a period of mourning during which time the national ensign of the Republic will be flown at half-mast from all public buildings from Tuesday, January 24, to Monday, February 6, 2017.

 

In a related development, the Foreign Ministry release has also announced the protocol for the signing of the Book of Condolence in the Foyer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

 

According to the protocol, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. the President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and members of her Cabinet will sign the Book of Condolence.

 

The Vice President and members of the Senate will sign the Book of Condolence from 10:35 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the Speaker and members of the House of Representatives from 11:05 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

 

At 11:35 a.m. to 11:50 a.m., His Honor the Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the Supreme Court will come in to sign the Book of Condolence.

 

From 11:50 a.m. to 12:20 p.m., the Doyen and members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps will sign the Book of Condolence, followed by the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General and Heads of International Organizations.

 

Current and former Officials of Government will be ushered in to sign the Book of Condolence from 12:25 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by Prelates and Members of the Clergy from 1:05 p.m. to 1:25 p.m.

 

Heads of Public Corporations, Autonomous Agencies, Bureaus and Commissioners will follow from 1:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

 

Other officials of government will have the opportunity to sign the Book of Condolence from 1:50 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by Heads of Political Parties from 2:35 p.m. to 2:55 p.m.

 

Heads of Civil Society Organizations, Business Houses, Friends and the General Public will have an opportunity to sign the Book of Condolence, in that order, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
