The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Mrs. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has extended warmest congratulations, on behalf of the Liberian Government and People and in her own name, to the Government and People of the People's Republic of China on the auspicious occasion of the 67^th anniversary of the founding of that great country.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, in her message to her Chinese counterpart, His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, President Sirleaf said  as Government and  people of China celebrate this joyous occasion,  she looks forward to further strengthening  the already excellent bilateral cooperation subsisting between Liberia and China for the mutual benefit of both countries and  peoples.

The People’s Republic of China’s National Day is October 1 but would be celebrated on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in Liberia.

“On this happy occasion, we acknowledge with appreciation, the strong partnership between our two countries, particularly, in Liberia’s development transformation, which we hope will further solidify our bilateral ties,” the Liberian leader stressed.  

The Liberian leader also wished for President Xi Jinping personal wellbeing and prayed that as Liberia and China work together in furtherance of peace, security and global economic development within the context of the sustainable development goals, the Almighty God will grant the Chinese leader with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his compatriots to greater prosperity.
