President Weah Congratulates Togolese President Gnassingbe Re-Election

The President of the Republic of Liberia, His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah has, on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia and his own name extended his warmest congratulations to His Excellency Faure Gnassingbe on the occasion of his re-election as President of Republic of Togo. According to the Foreign Ministry release, President Weah intimated that as his counterpart once more assume the herculean task of shaping the future of his country, he expressed hope that the existing cordial ties between the two countries and people will be furthered strengthened in the spirit of friendship and cooperation. The Liberian leader said that the fourth term re-election of President Gnassingbe did not come as a surprise; it shows the level of confidence his people and the rest of the continent repose in his ability to steer the affairs of his country. He further expressed the necessity to deep cooperation in trade and commerce and other forms of partnership that spur developments in their respective countries and the continent as a whole. The Liberian President then prayed that Almighty God will continue to endow His Excellency with increased wisdom and resilience of Togo to prosperity and continue happiness.

Weah Signs Book of Condolence For Fallen Liberian diplomat

It was a sad and and reflective mood on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, when the Liberian leader, flanked by other Cabinet Ministers, participated in the opening of the Book of Condolence for the fallen Liberia’s Ambassador to Senegal Mary- Ann fossung. Dressed in his black  gown President Dr. George Manneh Weah quickly walked to the chair, reflected for few minutes and penned down words of consolation to the family and other government officials, including the foreign Ministry family over the passing of the fallen Liberian Diplomat, pens the New newspaper.

CBL Board Announces New Monetary Policy Decisions Maintain Monetary Policy Rate At 30 Percent  

The board of governors of the Central Bank of Liberia ( CBL), during its 3 March 2020 meeting, has announced its decision to maintain the monetary  policy rate of 30%. This come nearly 4 months after the CBL board had set a monetary policy rate of 30%, after transitioning from an exchange-rate-targeting monetary policy framework to an interest-rate based regime. The maintenance of the monetary policy rate at 30 percent is in response to the global economic uncertainty, especially the Conronavirus, which threatening the global economy the New newspaper relates.

Gov’t Prepares for Miss Liberia Pageant –Lifts suspension of pageant

The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of information Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT) has announced that full preparations are underway for the 2020 Miss Liberia pageant. According to the Daily Observer Newspaper, Miss Liberia Beauty Pageant seeks to promote the beauty and diversity of Liberia’s Cultural Heritage. The program also aims to promote national unity and is the platform for the empowerment of young Liberian women by affording them the opportunity to showcase their Talent, charisma, beauty and academic excellence.

UL President assures progressive collaboration

The President of the university Of Liberia (UL), Rev. Dr. Julius Julukon Sarwolo Nelson has held consultation with the Faculties and Students to thread a new progressive course at the David A. Straz sinje collage in Grand Cape Mount county. Dr. nelson held the meeting minutes after he kicked off a weekend-long massive cleanup campaign Tuesday, 3March at the Straz sinje college of the university which is scheduled to continue on the rest of the campuses on Wednesday ( Medical college) Thursday and Friday Capitol hills Campus and Fendall), respectively, pens the New Dawn Newspaper.
