The Government of the Republic of Liberia and the United Arab Emirates, in pursuance of the mutual interests of the peoples of the two countries and guided by their willingness to develop and strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two States in political, economic, social, humanitarian and other fields, in accordance with the principles and norms enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, International Law, particularly in areas of respect and promotion of international peace and security, equality among States, national sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of other States, and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, dated 18 April 1961, as well as the principles of the Non-Aligned Movement;

The Government of the Republic of Liberia and the United Arab Emirates wish to express their mutual confidence in the importance of diplomatic and friendly relations and, as both States wish to work together in helping to consolidate international peace and security as well as peaceful co-existence;

Have agreed and decided to establish diplomatic relations at this highest level as of the date of the signing of this Joint Communiqué.

In witness thereof, the undersigned Diplomatic Representative, duly authorized by their respective Governments, have signed in duplicate this Joint Communiqué in English and in Arabic.
