Liberia Delegation Returns from AU Extraordinary Session

 The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador William V. S. Bull at the head of a Four Member Government delegation returned home over the weekend from Tripoli, Libya, where he participated in the Extraordinary Session of Executive Council of the African Union. 

The meeting which was attended by Foreign Ministers of Forty-Eight African Countries prepared a report for consideration by the Assembly of heads of State scheduled for July 2009. The July meeting will discuss the transformation of the African Union commission into an Authority.

Members of the Government delegation who attended the 12th Extraordinary Session of the Executive Council were Dr. Edward Clinton, Liberia Ambassador accredited to Ethiopia and the African Union; Ambassador Jarjar Kamara, Liberiaís Ambassador to the Republic of Libya and Hon. George Wisner, Assistant Foreign Minister for Afro-Asian Affairs.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Bull takes over immediately as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, pending the return of Foreign Minister Olubanke King Akerele from the United States of America.
