The President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency, Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, has sent a Message of Condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of Italy for the tragic earthquake, which led to the death of several persons and left at least 1,500 others injured in that sisterly Republic.

In the message to her Italian counterpart, His Excellency, Giorgio Napolitano, President Johnson-Sirleaf extended deepest condolences on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in her own name, to the Government and People of Italy, particularly the bereaved families for the irreparable lost sustained in the disaster.

President Johnson-Sirleaf then prayed that those trapped in the quake will be revived and brought to safety shortly and that Almighty God will grant the People of Italy and the bereaved families comfort and strength during this period of National Mourning.
